Getting My Shit Together: Decluttering Books

Hey, you guys!

So, in my previous post I talked about how I try to get my shit together by tidying up my favourite or go to places: bedroom and bathroom. I rarely go to the kitchen apart from refilling my bottle, I don’t eat breakfast and I spend most of my times outside (work, German class, exercise). So kitchen is not my favourite place at home.

I don’t know why I explain it though hahaha.

Anywaaaayyy, when I tidied up my room, I see that I have so many books in my drawers, table, floor basically everywhere. I tried to tidy them up but hey I have no enough space. My room is small so it would be impossible to keep them all. But but I love them. I love to re-read it or basically just keep them you know. Such a hoarder, Kem.

So I tried to minimise the book, keep what I want to keep. Still. Not enough space. Oh well… After doing so many selection again and again and again and deciding which one to keep which one to donate etc, I finally let some of my books go. I decided that those books deserve a new home. A better place. I won’t read everything again anyway so why keep them all?

I gave some of the books to my colleagues who like to read. Some of them will go to donation, I am looking for a library where I could donate them.

I don’t have to give up my hobby to read books just because I have no place at home. Now, I decided to learn to switch books to e-books. I do love the smell of books but if I keep buying them while I have no space left, then my room will turn into a mess again.

It is hard to let go, but I have to do it. Just like I said, those books are better of with someone else who will read them. And that’s what make them happy because they can serve their purpose 🙂

Cheers,

Kemmy
